The development is pacing: economically, the undocumented human traffic was
again a growth accelerator in 2003. Instead of deregulating or creating future-oriented
conditions for a responsible globalization, the political subjects of public
international law entrap themselves further in new protectorates and special
guidelines leading away from the concept of human rights.
The meeting focused on possible movements under the conditions of the
state
symbol management. Following the invitation of schleuser.net, artists
and scientists came to Graz to introduce their work and different strategies
of acting flexibly under continuously changing conditions. The meeting
was an interdisciplinary and public think-tank.
The intention of the conference was to strengthen the network of information
and positions concerning undocumented traveling for theory and practical use.
The partaking guests from different European countries could gather information
about many facets of undocumented migration in films, presentations, exhibitions
and readings, and they could discuss possibilities of intervention to improve
the conditions of cross-border mobility.
